Emirates Airline Cancellation Policy

  • What is the cancellation fee? Emirates Airline cancellation fee of 200 USD applies to both refundable and non-refundable fares.
  • 24 Hours cancellation policy: Cancellation has to be done within 24 hours and the travel date should be beyond seven days from the date of purchase to get a full refund.
  • What if 24 hours cancellation is missed? If the cancellation is initiated beyond 24 hours, the ticket value is converted into points and can be used to purchase a new Emirates flight.
  • Mode of refund: The refund initiated for Emirates ticket cancellation is processed via the same registered mode of the transaction while reserving the existing flight booking.
  • How to cancel? Cancellation can be made online via the ‘Manage My Booking’ section or for Skywards members after logging in with their credentials.
  • When will I Get My Refund? A refund would be initiated after confirmation of the cancellation within 7-10 business days.
  • What is the compensation for canceled or delayed flights? The Emirates Cancellation Fee Waiver applies if your flight is canceled due to weather disruption or a state emergency. For a full refund, you can opt for the original mode of payment. Depending on the total flight distance, passengers may be eligible for a flight compensation of up to 600 USD if their flight is delayed for more than four hours. A full refund is provided if the flight is delayed for more than five hours.

Name Correction Policy & Fees

Emirates has a passenger name change policy that allows for a one-time name correction on a ticket for a fee. The fee amount varies depending on the ticket type and destination.

The name change must be made prior to the flight departure and may also require a change in the booking class, which could result in a fare difference.

Does Emirates allow name changes? You can correct the name on your ticket (subject to fees) if your name is misspelled by up to 4 characters on the ticket. Emirates Airlines allows passengers to correct up to 4 characters on a ticket if it is misspelled, and they can also swap the first and last names under certain legal circumstances

Married/divorced can I change my name? If you got married recently or divorced you may do this easily without any fee, but you must provide valid documents verified by the government.
Fee for name correction after 24 hours? After 24 hours of the booking date, passengers can still apply for a name change but must pay a fee ranging from 200 – 250 USD depending on the ticket type and the class of service booked.
How much does Emirates charge to change a name? Passengers can change/correct the name on the Emirates airlines reservation within 24 hours of the date of purchase without paying the Emirates flight name change fee.

Emirates Check in Policy

1. Online check-in is available 48 hours before the scheduled departure time.
2. At the airport passengers can use the check-in service until 90 minutes prior to scheduled departure for checked baggage.
3. Passengers without luggage can complete online check-in up to 60 minutes prior to scheduled departure.
4. Economy Class passengers not using online check-in must be at the airport 3 hours before departure.
5. Print boarding passes to assist at the checkpoint and on the flight.
6. Make modifications as soon as possible.
