Carry-on Baggage Allowance
Qantas carry-on baggage for passengers traveling in economy class and business class.
For Economy class:
You can bring one piece of carry-on baggage weighing up to 7 kg (15 lbs). Maximum dimensions of 56cm x 36cm x 23cm (22 in x 14 in x 9 in).
For Business class:
You can take two pieces of carry-on baggage, each weighing up to 7 kg (15 lbs). Maximum dimensions of 56cm x 36cm x 23 cm (22 in x 14 in x 9 in) per piece.
In addition to the above, passengers may also bring one small personal item, such as a handbag, laptop bag, or a small backpack. Maximum size of 40cm x 30cm x 15cm (16 in x 12 in x 6 in).
And please note, all carry-on items must fit in the overhead compartments or under the seat in front of you.
Make sure that the total weight of all carry-on items must not exceed 14 kg (30 lbs) for Economy class and 14 kg (30 lbs) per piece for Business class.
Checked Baggage Allowance and Limits
First-Class: You can carry three pieces of checked baggage, each weighing up to 32 kg (70 lbs) with maximum dimensions of 158 cm (62 in).
Business Class: You can bring up to two pieces of checked baggage, each weighing up to 32 kg (70 lbs) with maximum dimensions of 158 cm (62 in).
Economy /Premium Class: You can have one or two pieces of checked baggage, depending on the fare type, with each bag weighing up to 23 kg (50 lbs) and maximum dimensions of 158 cm (62 in).
For all three classes, the total linear dimensions of each bag cannot exceed 277cm (109in)

How much is the baggage fee for additional baggage?
All fees are mostly in AUD and these are only for travelers/passengers looking to buy prepaid additional baggage.
Buying additional baggage at the airport will be 30 -50% higher than the prices mentioned here.
Weight Concept: Prepaid additional baggage charges:
- Between Australia and the Asiatic Region for each 5kg, you have to pay 122 AUD
- For Australia and Destination Around Australia for each 5kg, you have to pay 70 AUD
- For 5 kg between Australia and Africa and Europe is 280 AUD
Piece Concept extra charges
- 50 AUD for each piece in Australia Domestic Trip
- From Australia to America for each piece, you have to pay 225 AUD
- For a trip between America and Australia, it is 150 USD.

Flying With Infant: Qantas Special Baggage Allowance
- Extra Carry-on baggage: You are allowed to bring one carry-on bag for your infant, in addition to your own carry-on allowance. This bag should contain essential items such as diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, and a change of clothes for your baby.
- Stroller: You can bring a collapsible stroller with you on the flight. You check it in with your baggage or take it to the gate and get it checked. The stroller will be returned to you at the gate or baggage claim.
- Car seat: If you have purchased a separate seat for your infant, you can bring a car seat on board the flight. The car seat must meet certain safety standards and be approved for use on an aircraft. You can also check the car seat in with your baggage if you prefer.
- Baby carrier: You can bring a baby carrier on board the flight, but take it off during takeoff and landing. You can use the carrier during the flight if you wish.
- Special meals: Qantas offers special meals for infants and children, so if your child has any dietary requirements, make sure to request a special meal when booking your flight.
- Diaper changing facilities: Qantas aircraft have to changing tables in the lavatories, so you can change your baby’s diaper during the flight.
Qantas Airways Unaccompanied Baggage
