The Cathay Pacific Frequent Flyer program is called Cathay. It is a lifelong membership that offers members exciting rewards, exclusive offers, and meaningful experiences both on the ground and in the air.

To join Cathay, you need to create an account on the Cathay Pacific website. You can also join by downloading the Cathay app on your smartphone. There is no joining fee or annual fee for Cathay membership.

  • Green: 0 Club Points (this is the entry-level tier)

You can also maintain your tier status by earning the same number of Club Points within your next membership year. Otherwise, you will be downgraded to the lower tier.

Cathay Pacific Tiers and Membership Status

Green is the entry-level tier that you get when you join Cathay. You can earn and redeem Asia Miles, enjoy Cathay’s partner offers, and access the Cathay app.
Silver is the next tier that you can reach by earning 300 club points or flying 30 club sectors in a membership year. You can enjoy priority check-in and boarding, extra baggage allowance, lounge access for yourself and a guest, and more.
Gold is the third tier that you can reach by earning 600 club points or flying 60 club sectors in a membership year. You can enjoy all the benefits of Silver plus additional lounge access for two guests, priority baggage handling, advance seat reservation, and more.
Diamond is the highest tier that you can reach by earning 1200 club points or flying 120 club sectors in a membership year. You can enjoy all the benefits of Gold plus a guaranteed Economy Class seat on Cathay Pacific or Cathay Dragon flights, First Class check-in and boarding, First Class lounge access for yourself and two guests, and more.

Miles Expiry – Expiration Date Extended

Cathay Pacific has changed their Miles Expiry system from a time-based system to an activity-based system. All Miles earned from 1 January 2020 will have an expiry date extended by 18 months from the last crediting or debiting date, but not the activity or transaction date. This means that Miles will no longer expire three years after being credited to your account.

Top Up Asia Miles

  • The Cathay Pacific Frequent Flyer Program’s Top-Up Miles allows members to purchase additional Asia Miles at the time of making an award request.
  • The purchased Asia Miles must be used against the award being requested, and cannot exceed 30% of the required number needed for that particular award.
  • Any unused miles will remain in the member’s account, but the balance cannot exceed 2,000 miles. The purchase of Asia Miles will be shown on the member’s statement as a merchandise sale.
